Sean Morrissey came to ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ in 1999 directly from a successful performance career.  He made his Broadway debut in the original cast of the Lynn Ahrens/Alan Menken production of A Christmas Carol at the Paramount Theatre.  Directed by the late Mike Ockrent and choreographed by five-time TONY Award winner, Susan Stroman, Sean appeared in this annual production for four seasons.  Regionally, some of Sean’s credits include appearances in Cabaret and Me and My Girl at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Gypsy and West Side Story at Sacramento Light Opera, 42nd Street at Carousel Dinner Theatre, Gypsy, Oklahoma, and South Pacific at Gateway Playhouse, and West Side Story at Artpark.  He was a cast member on the European tour of 42nd Street and performed in a benefit production of West Side Story at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria.  He also performed South Pacific in the south Pacific at the Kalang Theatre in Singapore and at the Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As an award winning director/choreographer, Sean continues to work professionally.  He has directed and/or choreographed productions of A Little Night Music (Superior Achievement in Direction accolade by the Cleveland Critics Circle), The Addams Family, And The World Goes ‘Round (BroadwayWorld.com Best of Cleveland nomination for Best Choreography), Brigadoon, Cabaret, Carousel, Chicago, Dames at Sea (Times Tribute Award for Best Choreography), Damn Yankees, Drowsy Chaperone, Grand Hotel, Guys and Dolls, Lucky Stiff, Me and My Girl, The Merry Widow, My Favorite Year, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Pippin, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Sister Act, Sugar, Sweet Charity, Sweet Smell of Success, Yankee Tavern, West Side Story, (Connecticut Critics Circle Award – Outstanding Choreography) His work has been seen at Gateway Playhouse, Porthouse Theatre, Park Playhouse, The Media Theatre, and Little Theatre on the Square in addition to the extensive works he has produced on the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ mainstage. 

Sean’s choreography is not limited to the musical stage.  He has created 22 concert works for the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ University Dance Ensemble and had a tap piece premier in the National Tap Dance Day celebration at the Arts Bank in Philadelphia.  He was a Coleman Fellow in arts entrepreneurship and has served as both a nominator and voter for the Screen Actors Guild awards.  In addition to teaching and directing/choreographing for the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ mainstage season, Sean is the director of the annual New York and Chicago Professional Development Experiences for graduating seniors and serves as the Recrutiment Coordinator for the School of Theatre and Dance.
