Nurse Educator Plan of Study
The MSN Nurse Educator program can be completed on a part-time basis. Core courses are offered one time per year. Your School of Nursing advisor will help you develop your individualized plan of study to meet your goals.

Getting Into the Program
The School of Nursing participates in Nursing鈥檚 Centralized Application Service (NursingCas). All materials will be submitted through NursingCas ().
NursingCas collects and processes your application documents and verifies your transcripts. We receive information from NursingCas and use it to make our admission decision. We recommend that you order all official transcripts from all college experiences as early in the process as possible. NursingCas provides detailed information on the transcript process for all applicants. 星空无限传媒 University requires course-by-course evaluations for transcripts from foreign institutions, and we accept evaluations from World Education Services, Inc. (WES) and Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE).
Graduate applicants should:
- Complete the MSN Application found on NursingCas
- Upload official transcripts from all graduate and undergraduate institutions attended
- Demonstrate a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0
- Provide evidence of successful completion (grade of C or better) of undergraduate courses in Statistics
- Possess an unencumbered/unrestricted license as a registered nurse in Illinois or be eligible to obtain one upon admission
- Submit a written statement
- Submit a current r茅sum茅 or curriculum vitae
International Students
International students must submit official transcripts (in English) with an official evaluation of those transcripts by a foreign credentials evaluation agency and proof of English proficiency. To see requirements, go to: Center for International Education. International students must also possess an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Illinois or be eligible to obtain one prior to admission.

The Nurse Educator Certificate is designed for registered nurses who seek opportunities in a staff development role in the clinical arena or in a faculty role in an academic setting. A strong emphasis is placed on experiential learning opportunities focusing on teaching pedagogy and assessment of learning. Students will gain a strong foundation in curriculum development, methods of inquiry, teaching-learning theory and the role of education in healthcare. A requisite residency consisting of a minimum of 200 hours will be arranged collaboratively with the student, faculty and a skilled educator mentor.
Nurse Educator Certificate applicants should:
- Complete the University application for non-degree seeking students
- Upload official transcripts from all graduate and undergraduate institutions attended and demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Possess an enuncumbered/unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois or be able to obtain one upon admission
- Possess a bachelor鈥檚 degree (or higher) in nursing from an accredited nursing school
Enrollment in this certificate program is not available for students currently enrolled in the MSN Nurse Educator or Master鈥檚 Entry Into Nursing Practice programs.
