Students who major in Cybersecurity will build a deep set of technical skills related to IT infrastructure, networking and information security. The major’s multidisciplinary nature also provides students with a foundation in the business, ethical and legal knowledge necessary to analyze the effect of cyber threats.
Students in ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½â€™s hands-on, real-world Performance Learning curriculum master a wide range of cybersecurity skills. From defending against viruses and Wi-Fi intrusion, to correctly configuring servers and firewalls, students learn industry-standard practices while enjoying access to ethical hacking tools in Linux and Windows. Performance Learning
Cybersecurity students have the opportunity to run their own IT consulting venture, MU Performance Consulting, where students secure clients in the community, perform analysis and build technical solutions to solve real business problems. Students work in the business as well as on the business, developing projects while managing accounting records and human resources. Students get paid for their client work and partner with an advisory board of experienced ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ alumni (learn more at millikin.edu/MUPC). ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ students also have access to a dedicated, restricted-access computer lab, virtual environments, IoT devices and enterprise-grade software.
